Ceramic Accessories
Michelle Greaves’ interest in pottery first started in April 2002, when she received a gift of pottery classes from her sister. Under the watchful eye of master potter Gloria Chung at the Barbados Community College, she was encouraged to release “whatever hidden talent I may have had” and soon discovered the satisfaction of taking a ball of raw clay and turning it into a functional piece, or even a work of art. While much of her inspiration comes from nature, she is - as is evident in the pieces displayed at the Indigo hotel - especially intrigued by contrasts in textures and colours. According to Greaves “I pour much of my personality into my work, so when you buy a piece from Michelle’s Clay Gallery, you have a part of me”.
