Character Figurines
Roslyn Watson is a Barbadian design icon known for her fiber art, sculpture, designed objects, fashion accessories and signature mixed media tapestries. After completing her studies in Design and Crafts at Scotland’s Grey’s School of Art, she returned to Barbados in the mid 1960s to become the Coordinator of the Barbados Development Board’s Weaving Project, where she was responsible for developing industrial approaches to indigenous materials. Seven years later, with her husband John Watson, she launched 'Tropical Weavers', a company that serviced the needs of leading local and regional interior designers through the 70s, 80s and 90s. Concurrently, Watson experimented with natural fibers and materials in her design studio to create new products and singular works of art.
