SAFELY LANDED

Don Small graduated from the Barbados Community College in 2000. At college he specialized in sculpture under the supervision of the Caribbean master artist Stanley Greaves. Since then Small has embraced a wide range of media including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mural painting. While there is a political and satirical edge to many of his works, he is especially known for his sympathetic portrayals of working people, often observed in his immediate environment - indeed many of Small paintings have been tributes to his late mother. “Safely Landed”, which is displayed at the hotel, similarly acknowledges the skill and courage of Barbadian fishermen.
